'The Originals' Spoilers: New Witch to Be Introduced Upon Series Premiere

"The Vampire Diaries"  ended last month. Speculations on the fifth season have been appeasing fans while they wait the long summer months until the show's return in October, however there's even more Mystic Falls action on the horizon. The series premiere of "The Vampire Diaries" spin-off, "The Originals," is also providing vampire diehards with plenty to chew on.

On Wednesday, May 29, Spoilers Guide leaked some intriguing details about the upcoming series. "The Originals" will officially premiere on The CW this fall, although the first episodes previously debuted during the fourth season of "The Vampire Diaries." Upon its arrival, the cast will be starting fresh. The prior episodes will serve as a prologue, an introduction to the impending vampire drama "Vampire Diaries" fans have come to know and love.
According to the Spoilers Guide report, a new witch will be joining the cast upon the series' premiere. "There will also be a new character, Davina, played by Danielle Campbell. This character is a witch in New Orleans who gets tied up in Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) return to town. Davina was originally supposed to be in the backdoor pilot, but the part was cut during editing."

In a series of previous interviews, the cast provided fans with an inside look into the upcoming series. "We ended the backdoor pilot in a good place, moving forward together, a tentative partnership between us," said Joseph Morgan, who plays Klaus, while talking about the sibling rivalry between his character, Klaus, and Elijah. "But as things complicate, as the series pans out, there's room for throwing that up in the air. As far as the baby is concerned, I can't imagine that we both have identical plans of how this child should be raised. So I imagine we're going to have a conflict of interest."
"It's just going to be that ultimate dynamic of Elijah in pursuit of making certain that the family is reinstated as they once were, which is sort of this pursuit of a fantasy, almost," Daniel Gillies, who plays Elijah added. "And Klaus is a lot more malevolently in pursuit of power. It's no less of a fantasy. And it's sort of watching those two dynamics intersect."
"The Originals" will premiere on The CW in October, coinciding nicely with the return of "The Vampire Diaries."

WILL BOBBY BE BACK?

Showrunner Jeremy Carver hints at a possible return for Bobby in SupernaturalSeason 9, and we give our theories as to how it might just happen.

Now that Supernatural Season 8 is over, all eyes are looking beyond the dreaded hellatus to October when the show returns for Season 9. One character that a lot of fans are wondering about is Bobby, and showrunner Jeremy Carver talked to Screen Rant about his possible return.

Though Bobby originally died in Season 7 (not just once, but twice), he made a triumphant return in Season 8 when it was discovered that Sam had to break him out of purgatory as part of the trials to close the gates of hell. The decision to bring Bobby back was based mostly on the story itself, Carter said.

"I never think, 'Oh wow, who can I bring back?' I always think of it in the sense of, 'Oh wow, who would be right for this particular story,'" Carver revealed.

Does that mean that it's likely we'll see him again in Season 9?

"You know, we were saying all season, 'You never know what's going to happen to Bobby,' and I think we've found a — I can't believe I'm going to say this word — believable way to bring him back from Hell. I think now that Bobby is presumably in Heaven that it certainly does open up the question of whether or not we might see him again.'" Carver said.

While Carver hasn't said that Bobby will be back for sure, he also hasn't said that the character won't be back for sure. Because it really could go either way, we decided to look at how it could happen. Below are five ways we came up with that Bobby could theoretically come back in Season 9.

Sam or Dean could die and go to heaven (again) 

This would bring Bobby back without necessarily cheapening his death. With all of the angels booted out of heaven and Metatron apparently up there ruling things, who's to say that Bobby couldn't be asked to help out? Maybe we'll catch him and Ash hanging out having beers when Sam or Dean gets up there and then they'll all work together to defeat Metatron. When it was all over, he would still be there, but it's one way to technically get him back on the show.

He could make a deal with a demon

All right, so this idea is a bit more far-fetched, seeing as how there are no demons up there in heaven with him, but people make deals with demons on behalf of others all the time. The way we see it, a human would have to make a deal with a demon, and that demon would have to find a way to get to Metatron (because he's running the show up there). It would be a lot of trouble for just one person, but you never know how much Bobby could be worth to either side when the chips are down.

A spell that has yet to be discovered

This is really the most believable option. With a show like Supernatural, there are always spells sitting around that the boys haven't discovered yet. As the years have gone by, they've figured out how to do things they once thought were impossible, such as the cure for a vampire when Dean was bitten. If Bobby Singer was truly needed, I have a feeling the boys could find a way to bring him down from heaven.

He could open the doors and walk out

The last time we saw him, Bobby made it very clear that he wasn't all that interested in retiring from life as a hunter to go hang out in heaven and smell the roses. In fact, he told Sam straight up that he would very much like to come back to earth and rejoin the fight. So what if the clever old bird found his own way out? Every other option involves him being "rescued" in a sense, but Bobby's no princess — he doesn't have to wait for someone to break him out. What if he just finds the locked gates and marches out on his own? Heck, maybe he'll even defeat Metatron along the way and help return the angels to heaven.

 Flashbacks

Here's another method that lets fans get back their beloved Bobby without cheapening the heroic death he had on the show. We love Bobby but we don't necessarily have to see him in the present. After so many seasons, they don't even necessarily have to go back that far to find a moment in time where Bobby was alive but we missed something. Maybe it was on a case where we only saw Sam and Dean's side, or maybe it's some missing bits of a case we already know about. It's quite possible to get our Bobby fix without changing his current status.

The Vampire Diaries' Season 5 scoop: Julie Plec talks Stefan's doppelganger drama, Jeremy, and Damon's happiness

"The Vampire Diaries" has done it again.

Going into tonight's Season 4 finale, "Graduation," we knew a few things would happen: The gang would graduate, in a poignant scene that celebrated their history together. Elena would, once again, make a choice between Stefan and Damon. One character who had previously died would return from the dead. And, of course, we knew that someone would take the cure for vampirism and turn into a human. But while we were busy asking who would get the cure and who would spend the summer making out with Elena, we kind of forgot about another season-long mystery: Why won't Silas let anyone see his real face?

The slight of hand gave us one of the most jaw-dropping finale twists ever... and it was just one of many. We spoke with executive producer Julie Plec about what sort of fall-out to expect from some of the most surprising finale reveals when the series returns in Season 5.

1. Silas has a doppelganger -- and it's Stefan. Yes, the Petrova women aren't the only ones with the doppelganger enchantment in their blood. All of the convoluted twists regarding the legend of Silas, his goals, and his abilities came together. Thanks to a loophole, Silas came back to life, revealing that the immortality spell itself had a loophole: doppelgangers. Silas and Stefan share the same face. Stefan is Silas' doppelganger, and now he's trapped in a safe at the bottom of an ocean.

This is a storyline that has been in the works for about a year. "Last year, when Season 3 was over, we kept a small group of writers and we stayed for five weeks, to try to break the broad strokes of Season 4. Last year, right around this time, we came up with the doppelgänger pitch," executive producer Julie Plec tells us.

There were some complications to introducing another doppelgänger character. In Season 2 and early in Season 3, when Nina Dobrev was playing both Katherine and Elena regularly, she grew worn out, physically. Some of the decision-makers behind "The Vampire Diaries" were concerned that playing two characters could take a similar toll on Paul Wesley.

"We had to convince a lot of different people of how it could work and what could make it work," Julie says. "So that we didn't end up in a similar situation as with Katherine and Elena, where we exhausted Nina to the point of being unable to get out of her bed, because we accidentally overworked her so much. Creatively, everybody was very excited about the Silas doppelganger, it was just a matter of how long it took us to cement it, knowing that's fundamentally what we're going to do."

At the moment, Paul's not concerned about working too hard -- he's just excited to face a new challenge on the show. "He is so happy," Julie laughs. "Playing the straight man hero is not always the most exciting job for an actor, and Stefan, of all our heroes, is the straightest on the show. We get to go deeper into his ripper side sometimes, but for Paul, those moments are just pocket moments of opportunity to dig deeply into his craft, and a lot of other times he feels like he's just grooming his hero hair. So obviously, he's very enthusiastic about this, and has been supportive of it all along. He's been dying for something; to be a jerk, to be evil, to be the bad guy, to be able to stretch his muscles."

And in Season 5, he definitely will.

2. The resurrection of Jeremy Gilbert: "Vampire Diaries" fans are used to characters dying -- and occasionally, they pop back up later, whether it's as a vampire or as a ghost. Still, we were (pleasantly!) surprised to learn that Jeremy was coming back from the grave permanently, particularly because his goodbye episode was so heart-wrenching. Didn't the writers worry that resurrecting him would dull the impact of his beautiful, memorable send-off?

"It's something that we talked about a lot," Julie says. "Our intention, originally, was to say goodbye [to Jeremy] permanently. But then a lot of questions came up about the power of this girl losing her only living relative. It was so important to her journey at that moment. The global, eternally reaching tragedy attached to that is really sad, and really depressing."

Though Jeremy had to die in order to push Elena into the next phase of her life as a vampire, the writers quickly realized that it'd be impossible to bring her back from that dark, desperately tragic point in her life unless they revived Jeremy. Without him, Elena was looking down a long, black tunnel of depression -- and that wouldn't make for a particularly lively Season 5.

"We argued a lot, in the writer's room -- could we successfully bring this character back in a way that wouldn't feel cheap? Ultimately, I think that the way that it plays out, it does feel like the natural gift at the end of the season for this character that has been through so much," she explains.

Now Elena has a chance at some happiness in Season 5. "[Getting Jeremy back] resets her, in a way, where she can now get on with her life and live like the Elena that we know," Julie says. She is cautious, because she knows that some viewers might not be pleased with the loophole Jeremy steps through to return to the land of the living. "Critically, you can look at something and go, 'Well, that's a take-back, it's not fair,' but emotionally, I think, it's a positive. We might get hammered for it. We'll see. I'm hoping people will be so glad to see our Elena pull her life back together, they'll accept it."

3. Bonnie will still factor in to the storylines. Jeremy didn't exactly get a free ride back to the land of the living. Bonnie sacrificed herself in order to bring him back for Elena, and now she's trapped beyond the veil -- invisible to everyone, except for Jeremy.

It's certainly a tragic loss, but don't worry, Bonnie fans. Kat Graham will still be a big part of the show. "Here's what I'll say about Bonnie: I haven't personally seen 'Being Human,' but I do know that they have a ghost character that operates pretty successfully on that show," Julie says. "This is not the last we've seen of Bonnie. If anything, she will be right there in the middle of story next season, just with a few new complications."

4. Delena goodness! By giving Jeremy his life back, Bonnie essentially gave Elena her life back, too. Unencumbered by the sire bond, her grief, or a gaping hole where her humanity should be, Elena finally got to evaluate her love life with a clear head -- and she chose to be with Damon. "In death, you're the one that made me feel most alive," Elena told him. Cue the mouth touching! Now, with her vampire boyfriend at her side, she might just be able to enjoy college.

It's been a rough few years for Damon when it comes to his love life -- but Julie tells us it's finally time for him to have some legitimate joy in his life. "Yes. Absolutely," she says. "We're going to get to see Damon trying to be a good boyfriend, and while it's not going to be easy, he's going to try like hell to make it work, and they're going to have a real opportunity for happiness."

5. And what about Katherine? This season, we've seen a much more vulnerable side of Miss Katerina Petrova. She spent most of the year on the run. When she finally opened up and fell for Elijah, he rejected her in favor of a new beginning with his family. And then, in a moment of weakness, she allowed Elena to get the upper hand in a major showdown in the high school hallways. Elena, driven by very human emotions, shoved the cure down Katherine's throat. The thing that Katherine fears most is mortality. Elena gave it to her.

Just don't expect Katherine to go all Elena on us now that she doesn't have to drink blood to stay alive. "As a human, she's still very, very bad," Julie laughs. "If anything, she feels silly for letting herself get vulnerable, and she's taking out that frustration of her own vulnerability on Elena. If Elena goes after her, Katherine's still ready to kick that puppy."

‘Vampire Diaries’: EP Julie Plec talks the genesis of Klaus’ baby news, teases Silas twist

As The Vampire Diaries approaches the end of its fourth season, things are changing. Graduation in the May 16 season finale isn’t even the start of it. In the episode last month that set the course for Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to return to New Orleans in the fall for the Originals spinoff, we learned that Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) is pregnant with his child. The idea for Klaus to procreate with a werewolf was something that came up in the writers’ room at the beginning of the season, exec producer Julie Plec says.

“We had always talked about, at some point in the series, dealing with a vampire pregnancy, but we couldn’t really ever figure out the science behind that and also didn’t want to break any rules. And when we started talking about giving Klaus a really powerful journey for season 4 — regardless of whether there’d be a spin-off or not — we thought, well, where’s his character coming from and where does it need to go? What could we do to really, really blow his mind? And we realized, this is a guy who everything he’s ever done — all his ego, all his paranoia, all his anger — is a result of feeling like this family has completely failed him. So what better way to rock his world than to introduce a new element of family?” Plec says. “We came up with the idea that because of him being the Original Hybrid there could be a loophole, and him realizing he got a werewolf girl pregnant. [The writers] were in two rooms: One room was working on episode 2, and one room was working on episode 3. And in the episode 2 room, where I was, I don’t know how it came up, but I leapt out of my chair and ran down the hall and pitched it to the other room. I didn’t even give them a chance to disagree. Who knows if they loved it or hated it? They were so bombasted by my enthusiasm. Everybody was like, ‘Whoa! Whoa!’

So that was a story line we were intending to play, even if there was no spinoff that came to fruition.”
Klaus won’t be mentioning his impending fatherhood when he returns to Mystic Falls in the season finale to surprise Caroline at graduation. “We don’t bring that back around because really, what Klaus and Caroline’s unfinished business is, of course, is his refusal to allow Tyler back into her life. We’ll resolve that before the season’s out.”

As for what we will see in the last two episodes, Plec says in tonight’s penultimate hour, Elena, who has flipped her humanity switch back on, is “still pretty pissed off,” Plec says, “and in fact, her anger and her hostility that she’s gotten directed so cleanly at Katherine bleeds out a little bit onto the boys. But it’s all in the name of her finding her way back to her true self. And in the finale, as she gets closer and closer to really being the Elena that we love, all of those questions come back up — what’s the truth of how she feels and who does she feel it for?
The thing Elena (Nina Dobrev) is clinging to is her desire to kill Katherine (also Dobrev), which yields an epic battle in the finale. “When we stared breaking Katherine’s journey for the season, we knew we wanted to lead to a vampire confrontation between the two. The idea of having Elena finally being strong enough to at least put up a good fight felt like an opportunity we couldn’t miss,” Plec says. “I think Nina, as the hardest-working girl in show business this season, for sure, was just like, ‘Ohmygod, this is gonna be difficult,’ but was really excited about it. She had to shoot the sequence on a Saturday, just her playing both roles, two stunt girls, a film crew, and a lot of knock-down-drag-out goodness.” Will there be a definitive winner? “Believe it or not, yes. There will be,” Plec says. “And it will not be pretty.”

In tonight’s episode, Katherine spends some quality time with Bonnie. “Bonnie’s not very nice to Katherine in this episode — they spend a bit of the episode snarking and being literally and figuratively stuck with each other,” Plec says. “Bonnie is very intent on trying to find a resolution to this Silas problem: What he wants, what she wants, and how she can ultimately use what he wants against him.” As we’ve already reported, tonight, ghosts will also begin to slip through the veil to the other side that Silas wants to completely bring down — and that will bring familiar faces back to the show for next week as well. “Everything we did this season was knowing that by the end of the season, we’d be seeing some of these ghosts again that had their own agenda, their own point of view about whether the veil to the other side should drop, and their dog in the fight as it relates to Silas and whether Silas should be resurrected.”

And speaking of Silas, we’ll learn more about him tonight. “As we’ll see, he’s not exactly all that he claims to be. And he’s been leaving out some pretty important details,” Plec says, laughing. “So by the end of the season, those are gonna be revealed, and we’ll see that he’s definitely up to somethin’ that will lasting impact. The Silas story takes a little bit of a left turn, and once the audience sees what happens there, they’ll start to understand where we might be going with it [in season 5].”

“Beauty And The Beast” and “Hart of Dixie” Picked Up For Next Season

The CW Network has given early pickups to three additional dramas for next season, including the first new series order of the season with THE ORIGINALS, the highly anticipated spin-off of The Vampire Diaries, which was introduced during last night’s episode.  The network also gave advance orders for the second season of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and the third season of HART OF DIXIE. The pickups were announced today by Mark Pedowitz, President, The CW.

“As soon as we saw last night’s episode of ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ we knew we wanted more of ‘The Originals’ – Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson have done a fantastic job with ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ which is as fast-paced and well-written as ever, and Julie has created an equally compelling world for ‘The Originals,’” said Pedowitz.  “We’re also very excited to bring back ‘Beauty And The Beast’ and ‘Hart of Dixie’ for next season – both series continue to be creatively strong and compelling, and their fans are incredibly passionate.  I’m very happy to have all three series on the schedule for next season.”

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, starring Kristin Kreuk and Jay Ryan, was this year’s People’s Choice Award winner for Favorite New Drama, and HART OF DIXIE, starring Rachel Bilson, is one of The CW’s top performers on digital platforms, behind only THE VAMPIRE DIARIES.

All three of these series see big lifts in Live+7 Day delayed viewing versus Live + Same Day, with THE VAMPIRE DIARIES jumping 52% increase among adults 18-34 and a 56% gain among women 18-34 once all time-shifted viewing is included.  HART OF DIXIE averages a 53% increase among adults 18-34 and a 61% gain among women 18-34, and BEAUTY AND THE BEAST seeing a 43% jump in adults 18-34 and a 45% bump in women 18-34 from the overnight Live+SD to Live+7.

The CW has already given advance orders to ARROW, THE VAMPIRE DIARIES and SUPERNATURAL for next season.

The Vampire Diaries - Season 4 - Silas Cast

The Vampire Diaries’ newest big bad has finally been cast. And no, it isn’t Regis Philbin. (Sorry, Ian Somerhalder!).

Actor Scott Parks—whose most recent credit includes a stint on Homeland as a team agent—has been tapped to play the elusive Silas, the CW has confirmed.

Of course, that doesn’t mean we’ll actually see a lot of Parks in the role. Fans who watched the most recent episode of The Vampire Diaries know that Silas can take any form — a skill he’ll likely put to good use as the series races toward its May 16 finale.

Supernatural 8.21 Teasers: Can the Winchesters Complete The Third Trial? Plus, Cas Returns

We’re getting a little too close to the end of the season, Supernatural fans! Where did it go?! While the April 24 return of the show looks like a one-off episode featuring the return of Felicia Day (watch a preview), the last three episodes seem to focus heavily on the mythology.

For example, the May 1 episode, titled “The Great Escapist” and written by fan-favorite Ben Edlund, focuses on the third trial and Castiel’s solo trip to protect the Angel Tablet: “When Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) receive a distressing video message from Kevin Tran (guest star Osric Chau), they set about trying to uncover the Third Trial. The boys make a discovery that sends them to a casino in Colorado, to find a mysterious recluse (guest star Curtis Armstrong) who may be able to fill in the holes in Kevin’s research. Meanwhile, Crowley (guest star Mark Sheppard) is on a winning streak. Castiel (Misha Collins) tries to elude Naomi (guest star Amanda Tapping) and the angels hunting him.”

Where do you think Kevin went at the end of the last episode? Personally, I don’t think Crowley has him, but I’ve seen a lot of theories that the angels might…or perhaps one angel in particular. A new angel – whose “work” has played a big part in the current mytharc – that we’re going to see before the end of the season.

The Vampire Diaries 4.17 Teasers: Damon Flashes Back to His Time In New York

The Vampire Diaries is currently on hiatus until March 14 when we’ll be treated to a vastly different Elena. The following week, fans will be seeing a Damon-centric flashback episode that features his time in New York in the 1970s.

In “Because The Night”: “Realizing that Elena (Nina Dobrev) needs some time away from Mystic Falls, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) takes her to New York City, where he lived and partied hard in the 1970s. When Rebekah (Claire Holt) also shows up in New York, she’s impressed with Elena’s secret agenda. Flashbacks reveal Damon’s hedonistic life in the underground club scene and a complicated encounter with Lexi (guest star Arielle Kebbel). Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice Accola) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) try to convince Klaus (Joseph Morgan) that it would be in his own best interest to help them track Silas down, and Bonnie (Kat Graham) struggles to keep her grasp on reality and do the right thing.”

The Vampire Diaries Spoilers: Elena and Caroline in Conflict

On top of all the deaths and departures in The Vampire Diaries Season 4, something else that’s been difficult to watch is the growing distance between Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Caroline (Candice Accola).

The best friends started growing apart when Caroline realized the new vampire is sire bonded to Damon (Ian Somerhalder). While Elena was sure her feelings for him were genuine, the blond bloodsucker tried to convince her it was all in her head.

According to what executive producer Julie Plec tells Entertainment Weekly, the relationship between the two vampiresses is about to be under more strain. In Season 4, Episode 16, “Bring It On,” a newly unemotional Elena — who rejoins the pep squad — is eager to feed on some vervain-free out-of-towners during a cheerleading competition. Blood-bag fan Caroline is horrified.

“Caroline is the fixer she’s the planner,” says Julie. “She’s the best, most successful vampire in town, and she’s going to be right there in the mix wanting to help Elena. Unfortunately, Elena does not want her help, and it triggers some conflict between these two girls that’s both fun and sad at the same time.”

Oh, no! Let’s hope these two won’t b-e a-g-g-r-e-s-s-i-v-e with each other.

The Vampire Diaries Poll: Did Damon Make the Right Choice With Elena?

Holy wow! We’re still drying our tears after that episode, but we still can’t believe Damon (Ian Somerhalder) told Elena (Nina Dobrev) to switch off her humanity. Granted, the girl was having a nervous breakdown afterJeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) death, but it was still a drastic measure.

She burnt down the house with everything — including Jeremy’s body — in it. Though Stefan (Paul Wesley) warned her she might want to go back home someday, she dropped the match and walked away.

Based on the promo for Season 4, Episode 16, “Bring It On,” Damon’s plan worked. Elena is even more chipper than before her parents died.

Of course, she’s also biting cheerleaders.

Nina Dobrev: Death Changes Elena Forever

Death has loomed large over Elena Gilbert since The Vampire Diaries pilot, but absolutely nothing will compare with the pain she's forced to endure now that her brother, Jeremy, has fallen victim to vampires.

The shocking death not only devastated fans, but the actors -- Steven McQueen included -- as well. And anyone assuming TVD finds a way to make the best of a bad situation is wrong. Dead wrong. According to Nina Dobrev things are about to get real dark for Elena, whose grief will make her unrecognizable to fans in the coming weeks.

ETonline: This season has been a thrill from the start. What's your feeling about season four?
Nina Dobrev: It's been really cool, especially because you always hear actors say doing a TV show for X amount of years can be boring and repetitive, but over the last four years, Elena has been changing and evolving and growing so much. Julie [Plec, executive producer] has done such an incredible job of keeping it fresh and exciting and making me excited to come to work every day. Especially this season -- and especially with the death of Jeremy. Between last week's episode and this week's, it's been very challenging for me as an actress, but very fulfilling. It's an emotional rollercoaster and I had to go to some dark places.

ETonline: What was your reaction to finding out Jeremy would be killed?
Dobrev: I think we were all shocked and surprised, but that's the show -- it's a vampire show, people have to die all the time. And for Elena, it was very important that she lose Jeremy for what she's about to go through. It becomes a big part of her journey. I know Steven was very bummed, but also excited because he had a lot to do leading up to it -- his character grew and became so strong. It's bittersweet but made for some amazing television.

ETonline: In many ways, Jeremy was the person who really kept Elena tethered to her humanity. Will this loss threaten to make Elena embrace the less desirable sides of vampirism?
Dobrev: Jeremy was the last person she had left, so it's very likely that Elena could go off the deep end now that she doesn't have the one thing that kept her human. Elena wants to protect the people she loves and saw this new-found strength as a way to protect everyone. But, in this case, she couldn't protect Jeremy and lost the only family member she had left. She won't take it lightly. It's going to destroy her.

ETonline: Jeremy was also one of the only remaining characters who touched everyone in Mystic Falls. Will his death, in some ways, reinforce the group?
Dobrev: They do come together, but everyone is sort of walking on pins and needles around Elena so they don't trigger something and send her into a psychotic break. They live in a mystical world, so just because Jeremy's dead, it doesn't mean he's really dead in her mind. So she's looking for any solution she can to bring him back -- Elena is basically mentally unstable, going a little crazy and everyone is trying to help.

ETonline: Obviously Elena still misses Jenna and Alaric, but I would imagine losing Jeremy has a much more profound and prolonged effect on her. True?
Dobrev: Losing Jeremy really, really, really changes Elena. Sometimes people recover from tragedy and sometimes they don't -- but it's a long journey for her. Elena's mourning peroid is much different than any I've ever seen depicted on TV before. She goes off the deep end and spirals downwards into a black hole of death and sadness and misery. I mean, your instinct is right when you asked if we'll see an Elena who embraces her vampire side to a different degree. It's an Elena we haven't seen before, and you'll be shocked, quite frankly. I was very surprised where the episodes take her because it's almost like she's a completely different person that you won't recognize to some degree.

Beauty And The Beast: Five Things About “Trust No One”

We just got back from a screening of the February 14 episode of Beauty And The Beast, titled “Trust No One,” where Hurricane Alex still seems to make a mess of things and Muirfield seems to be getting ever so closer. But hey, before we post some interview material with executive producer Brian Peterson, how about five teases about the episode?

1. Vincent seems to know he messed up. Leaving Cat to go off with his ex-fiancee? Not the best idea, and not the best sign Cat can count on him. So, he tries to do a few things – including flowers – to try to woo her. Cat, of course, is reluctant to give in to her not so secret admirer…. at least at first.

2. And for everybody else… J.T. has his own plans for wooing Sarah at this Valentine’s Day time of year, and it appears Heather has a chance at romance with Joe’s brother. Joe and Tess are still doing their thing… literally. And Evan might get closer to learning that his new lady friend might not be affiliated with very nice people.

3. Ugh, Alex. I love Bridget Regan. She’s a fantastic actress and Confessor, and part of why Alex is so effective is because they got such a good actress to play her. But… Alex is nothing but trouble, and any second she’s around will bring Muirfield closer, making things bad for everyone. She’s also not very good at taking directions.

4. Somebody dies once they know too much.

5. A possibly surprising ending…. with a final line that will probably make the audience chuckle.

The Vampire Diaries Fan Question: WIll Rebekah Turn Into a Witch?

   Theories about the cure on The Vampire Diaries have been coming fast and thick. We have a lot of questions about it (is it even real, for example), but we loved this fan query: Will Rebekah (Claire Holt) turn into a witch instead of becoming human if she takes the cure?

Magic heredity is almost more complicated than the logistics of the sire bond. FIrst of all, it seems to get passed down from mother to daughter quite often — both Bonnie’s (Kat Graham) mother and Grams were witches before her — but that doesn’t mean it always skips the men in the family.

Remember Luka and Jonas Martin? According to Bonnie’s one-time crush, male witches prefer to be called warlocks. And Professor Shane (David Alpay) has a new friend — Massak. The face-painting witch seems pretty powerful.

The point is, any of the still-living Original sibs might have inherited the gene from Esther, so any one of them could become a witch — once they’re no longer vampires. As we learned from Rebekah (Claire Holt), “A witch is nature's servant. A vampire is an abomination of nature. You can either be one or the other, never both.”

In the short time we saw Bex, Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and their siblings as humans — before Esther turned them into vampires — none of them showed any penchant for magic. It’s possible they were witches-in-waiting and their talents hadn’t been activated yet. After all, it took Bonnie a while to move from a slight psychic ability to lighting fires with her mind.

Do you think it’d be a fun twist to see Rebekah as a witch or do you want the blond vamp to get her wish and turn human? Or should the OV just keep her fangs?
